How to Use the Library
The Children’s Diversity & Justice Library is a self-sufficient community library. There is no paid staff and no librarian, paid or otherwise. Please be respectful of this space and these guidelines so that all may enjoy this resource.

Anyone with a CDJL patron account can check out book.
How do I get a library card / patron account?
Request a CDJL patron account at a library event or from firstname.lastname@example.org. A one-time suggested donation of $15 is requested when creating a patron account.
How do I check out a book?
The CDJL check out system is self serve, meaning you can check out books to yourself using a smart phone, laptop or tablet. If you are without a device and checking out a book when a library administrator is available (TVUUC Religious Education Office Mon - Fri 8 - 3, Sun 9 - 1), the administrator can assist you.
To check out a book when you are in the library with the book you want to check out,
Open the library’s catalogue at https://www.librarycat.org/lib/CDJLibrary or click Catalogue on the CDJL homepage at www.cdjlibrary.org
Cool feature: if you already have an account, you can go to the library catalogue page, click on the little person icon next to the cat, log in and stay logged in. This way, when you ID the book that you want, you are already ready to check out!
Enter the title, bar code of the book you want to check out in the search bar.
Click the green Check Out button under the title you wish to check out.
Enter your patron ID to sign into your account in the dialogue box that pops up.
You checked out your book! Take your book home and enjoy it!
Return your book in 14 days! We’ll check it back in for you.
How long is the lending period?
How do I return a book?
Place your book in the blue plastic bin labeled Book Return.
How can I see what books I have checked out and when they are due?
Click on the little icon of a head and shoulders (a person) in the upper right hand corner of the screen, next to the sleeping cat logo.
Enter your Patron ID and click Sign In.
Your account will now be visible to you.
What if I forget my library card number / patron account number?
Contact the Library Administrator at email@example.com
