In the northern hemisphere, during long dark winter nights, diverse festivals provide many opportunities to kindle hope by welcoming light. We'll enjoy the library lit for many winter celebrations and highlight some of them by sharing stories of how some families, cultures and religions welcome light and keep hope alive with their candles, lanterns, lit trees, menorahs, kinaras, and strings of lights aglow. Optional activities will follow storytime including outside playtime if the weather is nice, related crafts and / or other activities. Room H inside the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, 2931 Kingston Pike, Knoxville Tennessee. Stories last approximately 30 minutes with optional activities to follow. Event is appropriate for all ages and particularly well suited to preschool and early elementary children.
